FFWD SEASON 4: DAY 1

Hey guys, it's that time of the year again, where I got to see some of the regions biggest up and coming brands fashion shows. On the first day of Fashion Forward’s fourth season in Dubai, I witnessed an array of very interesting collections, but although I wasn't able to go to all the shows due to other priorities, I can assure you that the ones I did attend were simply mind boggling.

The first one I went to was The Emperor 1688's spring summer show, which is the show I always look forward to the most during fashion week. This season, the Golkar brothers, as always, took my breath away by presenting a beautiful collection that redefines simplicity. Of course, all their garments are some of the best work I've seen so far, regarding craftsmanship.

How gorgeous are these handmade alligator baseball caps?

The next show by Jean Louis Sabaji presented a series of very artistic designs. The Lebanese designer's signature style was all over these pieces, using different fabrics and techniques to make his garments. The collection's cohesion and inspiration were visible throughout the entire show. It was concentrated on birds, their plumage and the skin beneath all the feathers.

Love this dress!

The last show I got to see was Michael Cinco's ''Impalpable dream of spring bloom'', where the Filipino Dubai based fashion designer showcased his dream like couture gowns in a mix of pastels. The beautiful pieces were all paired up with well tailored matching suits.

It's his flare for form and fabric that made him one of the most successful and sought-after names in the region.
